An exciting opportunity currently exists within the Development Services team at Mosman Council. We are seeking an enthusiastic person who is keen to further their career working in a professional team environment.

Reporting to the Manager Development Services, the Team Leader Development Services is a key position within the Development Services team, and oversees a team of four Town Planners carrying out the assessment of development applications. The role also includes carrying out development assessments as well as the implementation and review of appropriate systems to ensure a consistent, high quality of output.

The Team Leader Development Services will also be required to review development application reports and other work of the team to ensure consistency, accuracy and quality is achieved in all aspects of work, and to be accountable for recommendations and decisions made by the team.

The successful applicant will have at least four years’ experience in planning and development, superior knowledge of the NSW planning system and legislation in regards to development assessment, and good knowledge of the Local Government Act relating to building matters including the principles and relationship of the Building Code of Australia and the Regulatory Provisions. The position holder will also be required to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to team oriented results.
