Mosman gives generously to the Christmas Appeal

06 January 2015

More than 140 toys and books were donated to The Smith Family’s Toy & Book Appeal by Mosman residents for the 2014 Christmas Gift Appeal.

“We are extremely grateful to the members of the community – including Mosman residents – who have donated gifts to our Toy and Book Appeal, so that the families we support may have every opportunity to share in the simple joys of Christmas,” Smith Family CEO Dr Lisa O’Brien said.

The Smith Family was founded in 1922 when five businessmen decided to deliver toys to orphans on Christmas Eve. This tradition has developed into the Smith Family’s Toy & Book Appeal. For more information please go to http://www.thesmithfamily.com.au/christmas

In previous years, gifts were donated to Bear Cottage, Aboriginal children in the friendship community of Glen Innes via the Salvation Army and children in North Shore Hospital Paediatrics via the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.

The Mosman Christmas Gift Appeal provides an opportunity for residents to connect with and participate in community life.
