Mosman Sporting Wall of Fame - Call for NominationsPosted Wednesday 07 March 2012
- Nominations for this round of inductions have now closed.
Do you know someone that has been selected and/or represented Australia as an athlete in an international sporting competition at a senior or junior level? Do they live or have they lived in Mosman?
Mosman Council is currently calling for nominations for inductees to the Sporting Wall of Fame.
The Mosman Sporting Wall of Fame, located at the Mosman Swim Centre, 90 Vista Street, is an initiative of Mosman Council.
It was officially unveiled on Wednesday, 17 December 2003, by the then Mayor of Mosman, Cr David Strange. Etched on the wall are the names of athletes who have been selected and/or represented Australia in an international sporting competition at junior or senior level and have lived or are presently living in Mosman.
The striking glass wall, designed by artists Roger Apte and Warren Langley, combines imagery of selected sports – cricket, rugby, swimming, sailing, athletics and rowing – with the shoreline and major roads of the municipality.
The nomination form is available here on the Council website or by calling 9978 4257. The form can be completed either by the athlete or by a representative.
Nominations close 30 April 2012.
