Mosman Annual Ovals Renovation 2013Posted Tuesday 17 September 2013
The sporting fields in Mosman are very heavily used year round by a variety of different sports, schools and user groups.
Each year in September Mosman Council undertakes a repair and renovation program on its sports fields. The works restore ovals after heavy use through the winter and prepare them for summer users. Programming works in September each year also takes full advantage of the spring and summer growing seasons. This allows turf surfaces to matt and bind as strongly as possible. This in turn helps the fields better withstand the heavy use through the next winter season. The works include fertiliser and herbicide applications, returfing, top dressing, irrigation system checks and drainage system renovations and improvements. The photos below are of works undertaken in 2013.
