Mosman Parking UpdatePosted Thursday 06 November 2014
Council have now completed their Community Engagement Program on parking in the nominated study area encompassing the commercial districts of Spit Junction and Mosman Junction.
A key objective of the program was to elicit feedback on parking issues from a broad cross section of the community. This feedback was collected using questionnaires and community workshops.
The overwhelming response from the community engagement questionnaires was:
“Parking is a problem Council needs to address.”
So what are the next steps?
Council has commissioned the preparation of an Options paper to address the community consultation outcomes. The options are currently being workshopped by a Parking Focus Group consisting of representatives from the community, Council and our appointed consultants.
A further community workshop will be held on Tuesday, 18 November 2014 at 6.00pm at the Mosman Council Civic Centre. The purpose of the workshop is to present the options paper to the community and to receive feedback before preparing the final parking strategy. This strategy will be presented to Council in early 2015.
