Memory Park trees to be replacedPosted Tuesday 13 January 2015
Due to a recent failure of a large section of a Fig tree located in Memory Park an extensive inspection of all fig trees within the park was carried out by Council’s Tree Management Officer.
Unfortunately this fig and another mature fig have been found to be in an over mature state and beyond management strategies due to their location near buildings and a playground. These trees will be scheduled for removal as soon as practical and are identified on site by stickers on their respective trunks.
A further two trees (Fig and Liquidambar) will be scheduled for significant pruning works at the same time.
Replacement trees will be established as soon as practical after works have been completed to ensure canopy replenishment of the area.
