Outdoor fitness at Rawson Park

Posted Friday 07 April 2017

Mosman Council has responded to the popularity of outdoor fitness stations by establishing a third training area with the installation of new exercise equipment at Rawson Park.

Respondents to the community survey for Mosman Open Space Recreational Needs Assessment 2015 which was adopted by Council 6 October 2015, identified fitness equipment as a key priority for residents.

The equipment, made of marine grade materials and housed at four locations next to the footpath around Rawson Oval, offers a range of fitness exercises for the entire body and any age group.

The equipment has been designed to integrate into the existing environment with pieces positioned a short distance apart.

Mosman’s first fitness stations were installed at Balmoral Oval with Spit West Reserve’s set installed more recently in 2015. Upgrade work is planned for the Balmoral equipment in the new financial year.
