Mosman’s Rapt Christmas decorating competition has attracted 72 business entries located along the main Spit Road and Military Road strips, in Bridgepoint, Avenue Road, Vista Street, Canrobert Street and Myahgah Mews.
Winners of the Rapt 2018 were announced on Wednesday 12 December at the Mosman Chamber of Commerce Christmas Party held at Mosman Art Gallery. Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan and Councillor Libby Moline congratulated the winners and commended all those who entered and who put a lot of time and effort into creating beautiful Christmas displays in Mosman.
The winners of the business categories for RAPT 2018 are:
Winner – Best Overall Display – Montmartre Store
The judges were unanimous in selecting Montmartre as the overall competition winner.
This was a delightful, well-conceived display that was successful in evoking a warm and emotional response from viewers. The display was beautifully executed, balancing a sense of luxury and softness with simplicity and home values.
The window display was also successful in generating a sense of wonder, demonstrating a nostalgia that appealed to older viewers as well as engaging children who look forward to the joys of Christmas ahead.
Prize: Bowls and canapes for 10 people by Warringah Bowls Mosman (valued at $300); $200 print credit for Snap Printing Neutral Bay; and $150 voucher for Hair Salon Renaissance.
Winner – Best Lighting Display – The Buena
The lighting for the Buena Vista display had immediate impact on the judges.
The display took advantage of its significant location, carefully utilising the spaces available to create a bold display that was festive, stylish and joyful.
It provided a focal point of celebrations in the Southern part of the shopping precinct and is a great overall contributor to the festive Christmas lighting in Mosman.

Winner – Most Sustainable Display – Lily & Mitchell

Both delicate and subtle, this was an attractive and elegant display made of all natural materials, most of which will be repurposed and reused after Christmas.
