Council Decided – 2 September 2025
Council considered the following matters at its meeting held on Tuesday 2 September 2025.
Election of Deputy Mayor
Councillor Michael Randall will continue in the role of Deputy Mayor having been re-elected for a term of one year.
Draft Financial Statements
Council voted to refer the draft financial statements to proceed to audit, noting the strong financial position and the continuing trend of delivering a net surplus and exceeding all benchmarks as set by the Office of Local Government. The strong surplus has allowed Council to continue to reinvest funds into its Building Renewal Reserve, earmarked to support funding of a new library, a key infrastructure project and priority for the community. Council noted the strong result is the outcome of prudent financial management and commended staff for maintaining Council’s strong financial position.
Planning Changes by the State Government and the development of an alternate plan for Mosman
The September Council meeting was again well attended by the public, in support of a Notice of Motion outlining steps to explore the development of alternate plans for development in the area. Council voted unanimously to support a series of actions aimed at advocating for better development outcomes for Mosman.

Following an extensive recruitment process Council voted to unanimously endorse the appointment of Craig Covich as Mosman Council’s next General Manager. Craig is a 20-year veteran of Mosman Council, previously holding the position of Director Environment and Planning.
