Council Decided - 3 June 2025

The following matters were considered at Council’s June meeting held on Tuesday 3 June 2025. 

MOSPLAN 2025-2035

Following public exhibition Council adopted the suite of MOSPLAN documentation, including the 10-year Community Strategic Plan, Four-year Delivery Program and the 2025-26 Operational Plan as well as the Budget, Long Term Financial Plan and associated resourcing strategies. The development of our new MOSPLAN has been the culmination of extensive community engagement, analysis and planning that has involved the community, Councillors and Council staff.

Hunter Valley Uncorked Balmoral 2025

Council considered and approved a special event application for Hunter Valley Uncorked. The Hunter Valley Food and Wine event returns to Balmoral in 2025 and will be held on 19 October.

Balmoral Swim for Cancer

The Balmoral Swim for Cancer organised by Balmoral Beach Club was held on 6 April 2025. The event this year was run from an adjusted location and Council staff reported back to Council on the success of the event and the use of the trial location. 

MOSPLAN Q3, Quarterly Budget Review and investments

Several quarterly reports were presented to Council as part of our regular reporting requirements. Council continues to meet its project delivery milestones and is managing budgets that support a surplus.

Amended Taronga Zoo Sky Safari

Amendments have been made to the original plan for the Zoo’s new Sky Safari in response to issues raised during the public exhibition period and involve amendments to the height of the top and lower stations and changes the design and height of pylons, additional tree removal and replacement plantings and additional site establishment works. Council has prepared a draft submission to the revised plan.
