Further recognition for pavilion

Posted on Tuesday 24 June 2025

Allan Border Oval Pavilion has received an Award for Public Architecture at the prestigious 2025 NSW Architecture Awards, presented by the Australian Institute of Architects.

This recognition places the Pavilion among the state’s most celebrated public buildings, reinforcing its status as a landmark community facility.

While the Sulman Medal—the highest honour in the Public Architecture category—was awarded to Yarrila Place in Coffs Harbour, the Allan Border Oval Pavilion was announced alongside the Pyrmont Community Centre as one of only two projects to receive an Award in this category.

The NSW Architecture Awards have a long and distinguished history, with the first design award introduced in 1932. The Sulman Medal, named after architect and town planning advocate John Sulman, has since become one of the most prestigious recognitions in Australian architecture.

This achievement is a testament to the Pavilion’s architectural excellence and its role in enhancing the local area.
