Mosman Art Walk returns
For the first time, physical artworks from Mosman High School students are being showcased alongside local art icons including Ken Done and Ann Cape at the Mosman Art Walk, which runs until 10 March.
The popular fundraiser is back bigger than ever in its sixth year, with the diverse works of nearly 70 professional artists being exhibited in the windows of shops and businesses around the Mosman shopping village, including Council’s own windows.
Student artworks are on display at Barry O'Keefe Library throughout the three-week art walk, providing glimpses of the next generation of creatives.
Former Mosman High School student Mirra Whale is among the new artists joining the trail, exhibiting alongside award-winning photographer Gavin Libotte and acclaimed local artist Jumaadi.
More than 55 retailers are showcasing paintings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, photography and contemporary jewellery.
All works are also for sale via the on-site QR code, or through the Mosman Art Walk website.
For each sale, 30 per cent is donated to support Mosman High School’s acclaimed art program, and 70 per cent goes direct to the artist.
The unique art trail was established in 2021 by the Mosman High Art Committee to provide a Covid-safe event easily accessible for everyone.
The shop window concept captured the imagination and has thrived, growing into a beloved cultural event, attracting visitors from far and wide to enjoy the 3km art walk.
Reflecting its surging popularity, the event received nearly double the number of entries compared with the previous year, increasing from 82 to more than 150.
Visitors can stroll through Mosman Village, browsing artworks at bookshops, jewellery stores, estate agents, optometrists, and hair salons.
Free guided tours with special insights from a featured artist are also available, with bookings via the website.
