Mosman’s vibrant festival launch
The Festival of Mosman has commenced with an outstanding showcase of community engagement, cultural celebration, and cherished tradition. Over the course of its first four days, the Festival has brought together residents and visitors for a diverse program of events that reflect the vibrancy and unity of the Mosman community.
Festivities commenced with the popular SpringFeast Night Market, which brought The Crescent, Mosman Square and Village Green to life with seasonal flavours, artisan stalls, and live entertainment. The event drew large crowds and set a festive tone for the days ahead.
A highlight of the opening days was the ceremonial parade by sailors from HMAS Penguin along Military Road on Friday. This longstanding tradition honours the deep connection between the Royal Australian Navy and the Mosman community, and was met with admiration and pride.
On Friday evening, guests gathered for the elegant Dinner on the Green, an Italian-themed outdoor feast catered by Fourth Village Providore. Beneath the stars, attendees enjoyed a beautifully curated three-course meal served a travolo lungo (at the long table), accompanied by traditional live music that evoked the charm of the Mediterranean. The event exemplified the Festival’s commitment to creating shared experiences that celebrate both local and international culture.
The weekend continued with the lively Mosman Junction Street Party, where Middle Head Road was transformed into a vibrant hub of food, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. The two-day celebration culminated in a Community Concert, featuring performances by local dance schools, choirs, musicians, and community groups, with a grand finale by the Royal Australian Navy Band.
In addition to these major events, numerous community-led activities took place across the suburb, further enriching the Festival experience and highlighting the diverse contributions of Mosman’s residents.
With seven days of events still to come, the Festival continues to offer opportunities for residents and visitors to celebrate Mosman’s creativity, heritage, and community spirit. See the full program at events.mosman.gov.au/fom
