Painting prize
Entries are now open for the 2026 Mosman Art Prize. Artists from across the country are invited to enter for the chance to win the prestigious $70,000 prize and secure a place in a significant collection documenting Australian painting.
Established in 1947, the Mosman Art Prize is Australia’s oldest local government art award and a nationally recognised platform for contemporary painting practice. Funded by Council, it includes the acquisition of the winning artwork for the Mosman Art Collection. Founded by artist, architect and arts advocate Alderman Allan Gamble, the prize was created to support artists at a time when exhibition opportunities and community support were limited. It continues to support and elevate artists and contribute to the history of Australian art.
