Playful public art
Fans of street artist Happy Decay (Bjarni Wark) will notice an exciting new mural at the Vista Street carpark in Mosman.
Last year, Wark turned dull multi-level stairwells into a kaleidoscope of popping color and playful patterns over 200 square metres. Now, he has created a second Council commissioned mural at the carpark, bringing more whimsical designs to life for pedestrians.
There are fresh bursts of colour and imagination splashed across the wall, transforming the carpark into an immersive art experience. Look out for playful depictions of cats, birds and clouds brightening the trip for pedestrians entering and exiting the well-utilised carpark.
Wark said his intention was to turn what was a largely negative space into a positive experience, adaptable to both young and old, with natural playful elements to invoke the imagination.
The latest street artwork complements the existing mural adjacent to the main car park entrance, adding to the public art throughout Mosman.
