Summer Safety

Outdoor Summer Safety

Play it safe this summer

The 2020/21 Mosman Summer brings with it a new set of safety challenges. As well as being sun smart and safe in the water, there's the continuing implications of COVID-19 which mean extra planning and precautions.

Areas like Balmoral, Clifton Gardens and Chinamans are always popular summer destinations and their popularity is likely to be even greater this summer. After a unique and often frustrating year, enjoying some time in the sun at Mosman's beautiful parks and beaches is likely to be high on the to-do list for many. Let's all do what we can to make sure our public spaces remain safe during this time.

There are some simple ways this can be achieved. Always maintain at least 1.5m between yourself and others - on our beaches that's a good towel length between each other. Avoid large crowds and keep an eye on public health orders about maximum gathering numbers. Maintain good hand hygiene and plan ahead for beach trips.

If you're considering heading down to one of our major public beaches, check their status below before you go. Also keep a look out for other messaging around the area - on street-side signage for example - alerting you to any problems at major destinations like Balmoral. And if you're at the beach and are given directions by a Council Ranger, COVID Marshal or the Police - please follow them; it will help keep everyone safe.
