Australian Women's Handball Team
Joanne Wheatley has had a distinguished career in sport as both competitor and coach for more than three decades.
She was a member of the Australian Women's Handball Team from 1991-93, captaining the team at the 1991 Asian Championships in Hiroshima, Japan, and against New Zealand in World Championship qualifying matches in Canberra in 1993.
She was also a NSW swimming representative from 1971-79.
As a coach and physical education teacher, Joanne Wheatley has guided students at Abbotsleigh, Queenwood and Wenona, and she has lectured at the University of Technology, Sydney, since 1995.
