Australian Wallabies
Alex Pope toured Ireland and Scotland with the Wallabies in 1968. He played one Test, at Ballymore. He also played against the New Zealand All Blacks in Australia in 1968.
He played for Queensland from 1967-71, captaining the team in 1971, and was a member of the Brothers premiership-winning teams of 1966, 1968 and 1971.
His playing days continued with Mosman Rugby Club (1977-83), and he captained the NSW Rugby Sub-District 1st XV (Australian Tour) in 1983.
Alex Pope is still involved in rugby, alongside his career in social work.
