Tony 'Slaggy' Miller was a tough and remarkably durable forward whose international career spanned 16 seasons. He holds the Australian Test record for the oldest player in his last match - 38 years, 113 days versus New Zealand in 1967.
Miller played 41 Tests in all for Australia, making his debut in 1952 against Fiji. With Alan Cameron he formed one of Australia's greatest second row combinations.
He also played more than 100 games for NSW and, over an incredible 23 years, 346 first grade matches for Manly.
Tony Miller was Manly's coach for 4 years before moving to the Warringah club. When the Warringah Rats won their first title - the Shute Shield - in June 2005, a life-size cardboard cutout of Miller was carried onto the field in tribute and celebration.
His commitment to youth and community never wavered. He never said no when asked by Mosman High, Mosman Primary and Mosman junior rugby to help coach and he worked tirelessly with local community organisations.
