Australian Wallabies
Richard Harry, a hard-running loosehead prop, was an integral part of the Wallabies during a remarkable era for the national team, winning the World Cup in 1999, the Bledisloe Cup three times between 1998 and 2000 and the Tri-Nations Cup, the first for Australia, in 2000.
Harry had begun his playing career as a flanker for Sydney club Eastwood when he realised his future would never include a Wallabies jumper if he stayed in the back-row.
He made the positional switch and dropped to fifth grade to learn his craft. By the end of 1994, he was fast-tracked into the Emerging Wallabies and NSW selection followed in 1995.
Richard Harry made his Wallabies debut against Wales in Brisbane in 1996, and went on to win 37 Test caps over a memorable five year period.
He made 67 appearances for the NSW Waratahs.
