At the 2002 World Masters Track Championships in Manchester, England, Dave South won the gold medal in the Men's Pursuit in the 60-64 years category. He took silver in the 10km Points Race.

In 2001, he won bronze in both events at the World Championships.

At the World Masters Games in Melbourne 2002, he won silver in the Sprint and bronze in the 2000m Pursuit for the 60-64 years category.

Dave rides for Waratah Veteran Cyclists Club, is manager of Southcorp Ltd and has lived in Mosman for 25 years.
