A rugby sprint champion, Eric Ford was a winger with blistering pace. In his 21 matches for the Waratahs, he was the outstanding player in his position.
On the Waratah's nine month tour of Britain and France in 1927-28 he scored 15 tries and shared the highest try scoring award with Cyril Towers. The team played 31 games, winning 27 and drawing 2.
At home, he played 11 matches for NSW, including two against New Zealand in 1928.
His two Tests were victories against New Zealand, also in 1929.
