John Carroll was a tall, robust second row forward who built a fine representative record in two seasons before a knee injury interrupted his promising playing career.
Representing his country on eight occasions, Carroll played all three Test matches on the 1958 tour of New Zealand and both tests in Australia against Great Britain in 1959.
"Jack" represented Mosman in the Kentwell Cup before playing first grade for Northern Suburbs.
