Youth Awards in Literature
Mosman Youth Awards in Literature (MYAL) is an online competition in story and poetry for young writers, with cash prizes totalling more than $2,000 to be won!

General Information
Students are invited to submit a piece of story and/or poetry from the Categories below:
Story
Senior – Years 10, 11, 12
1st Prize — $350
2nd Prize — $150
Junior – Years 7, 8, 9
1st Prize — $200
2nd Prize — $100
Primary – Years K–6
1st Prize — $100
2nd Prize — $75
Poetry
Senior – Years 10, 11, 12
1st Prize — $250
2nd Prize — $150
Junior – Years 7, 8, 9
1st Prize — $150
2nd Prize — $100
The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Conditions of Entry
- ENTRY FORM and DECLARATION OF ENTRANT (either A or B) must be completed and signed by entrant and parent/guardian (not teacher) if under 18 years of age.
- Please do not include your name or images on your work.
- Work must be submitted in Word or PDF format.
- Submissions must be the entrant's original work and not AI generated.
- Mosman Library Service is authorised to display any entries and to publish all or part of an entry.
- Entrants are advised to keep a copy of their work.
Submission Rules
Story
- Entrants will submit ONE piece of original story of not more than 1,000 words on a theme of the writer’s own choice
Poetry
- Entrants will submit ONE piece of original poetry of at least 20 lines on a theme of the writer’s own choice
