Beaches Link delay

Council will seek an urgent meeting with the NSW Premier and Minister for Transport to voice Council’s strong objection to the cessation of the Northern Beaches Link Tunnel project.
The move follows Council’s endorsement of a Mayoral Minute delivered by Mayor Carolyn Corrigan regarding the project’s indefinite delay announced by the NSW Government.
Council will strongly urge the government to continue delivering rapid bus services and to further investigate all possible public transport options between Dee Why and Chatswood.
Strong written representations will also be made to the Premier advocating that there be no further increase in housing targets while there is no long term traffic solution for the Spit Bridge route.
