Marine park consultation

Posted on Wednesday 12 September 2018

Residents are invited to have their say about a new State Government marine park proposal in the Newcastle-Sydney-Wollongong region.

The community and other stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback on the proposal by completing the online submission form by 27 September 2018.

Comments are sought on the:

  • 25 sites comprising the park proposal
  • the management changes proposed at each site
  • and/or the benefits and costs to your activities, community or industry.

The information provided will inform the final marine park proposal to be considered by the NSW Government. Existing management rules will remain in place, and none of the proposals will be implemented until the NSW Government announces the outcome.

Details on community information sessions, including one to be held at Clifton Gardens on Saturday 22 September, are available on the Marine Estate website.

More information about the proposal, including an interactive map, Frequently Asked Questions and online submission form is available at marine.nsw.gov.au/key-initiatives/hawkesbury-shelf-marine-assessment.
