New amenities open

Posted on Tuesday 15 September 2020

Fully accessible facilities with family-friendly, ambulant and unisex toilets, as well as a drinking water fountain, have been officially opened at Mosman Junction.

Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward joined Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan in cutting the ribbon. Council representatives and members of the local Access and Mobility Community Consultative Committee also attended the opening of the new facilities, adjacent to the Raglan Street West Carpark.

The amenities were partly funded by the NSW Government’s 2019 ‘My Community Project’ program, following the development of a grant application and promotion by members of Mosman’s Access and Mobility Committee.

The accessible toilets project was one of 12 submitted from the North Shore electorate and received overwhelming support in an online vote from the Mosman community.

A grant of $200,000 was subsequently provided by the NSW Government and Mosman Council, as sponsor, provided supplementary funding and delivered the project within 12 months.
