Pet's Day Out 2016
Competitions and interactive animal shows will headline this year’s much loved free community event Pet’s Day Out with obedience master classes to improve manners and relaxing animal acupuncture and dog yoga DOGA the order of the day after pets test their skills through a special entrance maze.
Highlights of the event, to be held at Mosman Square and Village Green on Sunday 28 August, 10am – 2pm, include performances by Dancing Dogs R Us, Zoomobile and Responsible Pet Care demonstration by Taronga Zoo, Australian Wildlife display and Mosman Vet photo booth, a colouring in competition, cupcake decorating and face painting.
Many prizes will be on offer during competitions including the Egg and Spoon race, Animal Fancy Dress, Pet-owner Look-alike, Most Unusual Pet and There’s no such thing as the Dog Poo Fairy race.
“Pet’s Day Out is open to all animal owners and lovers, so even those who don’t own a pet are welcome to come along to enjoy a spectacular pet related program for all ages,” Mosman Council Manager Communications Liz Bennett said.
For those interested in starting or extending their pet family, Doggie Rescue and Greyhound Rescue, which homes approximately 150 greyhounds a year, will be at the event to provide information on dog adoption.
“Greyhounds are gentle and affectionate, don’t bark much, don’t need much exercise and are 70km/h ‘couch potatoes’, what more could you ask for?” co-founder of Greyhound Rescue Peter Flann said.
Bring a bag for the many sample giveaways and products for purchase available from the colourful stalls on the day including delicious and organic pet food and pet supplies.
