Meet the ecologist
Posted on Wednesday 28 April 2021
Kimbriki Recycling and Resource Centre has launched a new “Meet the Ecologist” event which encourages community members to drop into the Eco House and Garden between 9.30am and 2.00pm on the last Friday of each month.
Visitors can wander through the permaculture garden and learn more about ecology, permaculture, and sustainable living practices, including a wide range of edible plants, wicking garden beds, native beehives, worm farms, and composting toilets.
The Eco Garden, which is a permaculture, or “grazing garden” where visitors can nibble edible flowers, fruits, and herbs as they wander, has been in operation for more than 20 years while the Eco House opened 10 years ago.
No bookings are required for the free monthly event.
