Testing clinic closes
The temporary COVID-19 testing clinic at Georges Heights will cease operations on schedule after five weeks at Georges Heights.
The pop-up clinic operated by private provider Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology was opened on 27 December and will close as planned on Friday 28 January.
Mosman Council worked closely with several agencies, including Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, to secure the site and Council expressed its gratitude to the Harbour Trust’s Chair Joseph Carrozzi, Executive Director Janet Carding and staff for making the facilities available.
While demand has since abated due to the increased use of rapid antigen tests and a stabilising of use of testing clinics, Council encouraged Douglass Hanly Moir to continue looking for alternate sites, noting the difficulties in finding a venue that is both easily accessible but does not block intersections, driveways and regional traffic flows.
