Council Meetings

When

Council Meetings are generally held on the first Tuesday of the with the exception of January where there is no meeting scheduled. Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers. Council meetings begin at 7pm, with Open Question Time at 6.20pm and Public Forums held at 6.30pm.

Please note that Extraordinary Council Meetings may be called with notice at anytime.

Where

Meetings are held in the Council Chambers located on the first floor of the Civic Centre, 573 Military Road Mosman (unless otherwise stipulated as being held online). 

Agendas and Minutes

Council Agendas are published on the Wednesday prior to the Council meetings. 

Council Minutes are prepared and distributed on the Thursday following each meeting.

Open Question Time

Open Question Time is held from 6.20–6.30pm before Council meetings. Open Question Time is available to Mosman residents and ratepayers. Questions permitted to be asked of the Mayor and Councillors are on topics not on the Council meeting agenda. 

Public Forum

Public forums are held at 6.30pm before Council meetings for the purpose of hearing oral submissions from members of the public on items of business to be considered at the meeting.

• Members of the public are to register to speak by 2.45pm on the day of the Council meeting.
• Your speech must be on an item on the Council meeting agenda.
• No questions are to be asked of Councillors or staff.
• Speakers are limited in delivering their submissions however Councillors may ask the speaker questions.
• Speakers will be kept to a three (3) minute time limit.

Council's meetings are governed by a Code of Meeting Practice, which outlines rules for submission of business items, attendance, debate and declaration of interest.

Webcast

Mosman Council offers on-demand video of Council meetings. Live streaming allows the ability to view proceedings via the internet without the need to attend Council meetings, giving greater access to Council decisions and debate.

Residents can also view archived videos of previous meetings. The webcasts of Council meetings are usually available within 48 hours after a meeting.
