A warm welcome to 2018

Posted on Thursday 25 January 2018

Happy New Year and best wishes for a healthy, safe and prosperous 2018. A fond farewell to our many visitors who have enjoyed their summer holiday season with us here in Mosman.

January is always such a wonderful month to enjoy our fantastic beaches, wonderful scenic bushland walks and great local shopping and restaurants.

Our children are preparing for the 2018 school year and a very special good luck to all young ones starting kindergarten. Council is ready to knuckle back down to business with our first Council meeting on Tuesday 6 February.

Residents have voiced satisfaction with the new B-Line bus service, but I have also had queries about greening up the area and improving the amenity and appearance of the Clifford St Plaza. I will request our planning staff direct your concerns to the RMS and I will make representations to our local member, Felicity Wilson.

Our Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony will take place on Friday when over 40 local residents will become Australian Citizens. Another wonderful highlight is the awarding of the 2018 Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year. In advance, I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Council staff and the Lions Club of Mosman for once again providing invaluable assistance and running the BBQ luncheon.

Please note there will be a community meeting next month to discuss the newly mandated planning changes for development applications. The meeting will be held on Wednesday 7 February in the Council Chambers, Mosman Civic Centre commencing 6.30pm.
