Community gathers on proposed State housing reforms
Council hosted a Community Information Session in the Grand Hall at the Mosman Art Gallery on Monday 19 February, which was attended by almost 200 community members, Mosman Councillors and Council staff.
The session provided information regarding the State Government’s recently announced housing reforms and the anticipated impacts on the built form in Mosman.
A presentation by Council’s Director Environment and Planning Craig Covich was followed by a question-and-answer session facilitated by General Manager Dominic Johnson.
Mayor Carolyn Corrigan opened the session and encouraged residents who were planning to lodge submissions regarding the reforms to ask the Planning Minister to “slow down, invite local government to the table” and to remember “whilst we all recognise the urgent need for additional housing and are committed to doing our part, one size does not fit all”.

Submissions to the NSW Government must be made by Friday 23 February and can be made via the Planning Portal.
