Serving Mosman

I am humbled and honoured to follow in the footsteps of Peter Abelson. Peter retired after 13 years of exemplary public service to the people of Mosman and his lasting legacy of strong and resolute leadership to retain our independence will be recorded in our history books.

I acknowledge the tremendous support and love Peter receives from his wife Jeanne and his three children. I know I speak for the entire Mosman community in saying a most sincere and heartfelt thank you.

My first action as Mayor will be to sit with my fellow Councillors and senior staff and together establish the priorities for our new Council. We can plan with confidence knowing that our Independence is assured. We will collaborate with our neighbouring councils, regional stakeholders and government to forge potential new shared service partnerships that will realise efficiencies and new business opportunities.

We will develop, in consultation with the community, our response to the recent Government changes to planning legislation, especially the potential for Council to be stripped of its right to determine DAs on public land.

I will continue to have a special interest in supporting and nurturing our youth, whilst at all times working for all our residents.
I look forward to sharing with you our positive and successful achievements.
