3-Day Limited Library Services
Posted on Wednesday 14 August 2024
Barry O'Keefe Library is getting a makeover! From Monday 2–Wednesday 4 September, the upper level of the library will be unavailable as new shelving is installed. The lower level of the library will remain open for browsing, studying, a pop-up collection, PC and Meeting Room use, and most events.
Here's what will go ahead:
- We will be open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 9.30am–5.30pm
- Kids sessions from 3–5pm in the Creation Space will go ahead as normal
- The Monday Matters, Author Evening and JP Service will go ahead as normal
Here's what will look different:
- No access to the upper level of the library, including the Children’s Library and our public toilets
- There will be an extended borrowing and reservations period between 1–8 September, meaning no books will be due during this period
- A pop-up Children's Library as well as Tuesdays Storytime and Wednesdays Babytimes will be held in the Creation Space, spaces and pram parking limited
- Adult sessions from 10am–12pm in the Creation Space will be cancelled during this three-day period
- We will close at 5.30pm instead of 9pm on Tuesday 3 September
Please note during this time the nearest accessible toilets are located across the road from the library at the Allan Border Oval. The nearest non-accessible public toilets are located along the Library Walk just outside the library. View a map of nearby public amenities here.
We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause, however, we promise it will be worth it!
