HarbourCare Volunteers
Worldwide there are millions of tonnes of rubbish that enter our oceans every year with a million sea birds and 100,000 marine mammals killed annually as a result of plastic pollution. Mosman Council is encouraging residents to step up and help this global problem at a very local level by becoming a HarbourCare Volunteer.
What is HarbourCare?
HarbourCare is a volunteer program whereby locals collect rubbish from along Mosman foreshore and report the data back to Council.
What if I already collect rubbish?
Brilliant! We know that there are many local residents who are already collecting rubbish on their own as they walk the dog or stroll along the beach and we would love to celebrate these people, so please become a HarbourCare Volunteer
What support will Council offer?
Council will provide you with personal protective equipment (PPE) and assistance in rubbish collection if required.
What will Council use the data for?
Data collected with help Council co-ordinate their education programs and messages to continue to reduce residents reliance on single use plastics.
