Hazard reduction burn

Hazard reduction burns are proposed between Middle Head Road and Bradleys Head Road from Monday 21 September to Wednesday 23 September inclusive.
The burns are being jointly conducted by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), Fire and Rescue NSW and the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
The Clifton Gardens and Gunners Barracks Hazard Reduction Burns will cover approximately 20 hectares of land within Sydney Harbour National Park and Headland Park (managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust). Lands managed by Mosman Council and the Department of Defence will also be impacted.
Closures will be in place for Mosman Drill Hall and Marie Bashir Sports Complex, Georges Head Lookout, Georges Heights Oval and Rawson Oval surrounds including the off-leash dog area. Clifton Gardens Reserve will also be closed.
Chowder Bay Road will remain open under a Stop/Slow traffic arrangement. Parking will be restricted on Chowder Bay Road within Harbour Trust land. Local traffic control will be in place on Dominion Crescent, Suakin Drive, Commonwealth Avenue and Imperial Place at Georges Heights.
The Middle Head (Gubbuh Gubbuh) to Georges Head Walk and the Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay Walk will remain open. The Chowder Bay to Georges Heights tracks and the track between Dominion Crescent, Georges Heights and Rawson Park will be closed.

Helicopter support will be based at Georges Heights oval.
For safety and environmental reasons, tracks and trails may be closed after the burn until further notice.
