A compact right-hand batsman of slight build, Ian Craig is the youngest Australian to play Test cricket (17 years), and the youngest Australian Test cricket captain (22 years).
Ian attended North Sydney Boy's High where he had a remarkable cricket career, and continued this high standard playing for Mosman. He won selection for NSW at the age of 16, and in 1952-53 against South Africa scored 213 not out, becoming the youngest Australian to score a first-class double century.
He represented Australia in a total of eleven tests and in 1957-58 was made captain for the tour of South Africa.
He was also a keen baseballer and was selected for the Australian Schoolboy Baseball Team in 1948, 1949 and 1951.
Ian is a Life member of NSW Cricket Association, an inductee into the NSW Hall of Champions, and Chairman of the Bradman Foundation.
