New Collection of Graphic Novels for Adults

The Library now holds a new collection of over a thousand graphic novels aimed at an adult audience.

Some of these are graphic retellings of classic novels such as “The Alchemist” by Coelho, “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood, or “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee.

Some are fun continuations of other novels (the Ben Aaronovich “Rivers of London” series, the illustrated “Joe Hill” compendium, the “Witcher” TV series, and various other movie and TV tie-ins).

Some deal with adult themes of aging, dying, romance, mental health, or race issues. We recommend the beautiful award winner “Blossoms in Autumn”, “Marbles”, or “Strange Fruit”.

We will even have a few non-fiction graphic books, such as “The Comic Book Story of Beer”, “My New York Marathon”, or Anthony Boudain’s “Hungry Ghosts” (a horror story with recipes, very unique!).

Some of the books, such as “Hark! A Vagrant” or “Strange Planet” are, of course, just for fun!

Note: Some of these titles do encompass adult themes and will be placed in the non-fiction area (next to Spy and Adventure) away from the children and young adult areas.
