Youth Awards in Literature winners

The winners of this year’s Mosman Youth Awards in Literature have been announced after being selected from 321 entries submitted online by students at local schools and other schools across Sydney.
The competition, which is in its 29th year, attracted a high standard of entries across a wide variety of topics.
The winners included:
Primary Prose
- 1st Prize – Caitlin Ong, Neutral Bay Public School
- 2nd Prize – Violet Bloxsom, St Andrew’s Cathedral School
- Highly Commended- Beau Booker, St Luke’s Grammar School
- Commended- Alice Surace, St Luke’s Grammar School
Junior Secondary Prose
- 1st Prize – Chantilly Ho, St Andrew’s Cathedral School
- 2nd Prize – Kaia Tham Oxford Falls Grammar School
- Highly Commended- Cate Atkinson, Abbotsleigh
- Commended- Poppy McKinnon, Newtown High School of Performing Arts
Senior Secondary Prose
- 1st Prize – Matilda Meikle, Mosman High School
- 2nd Prize – Olivia Layton, Stella Maris College
- Highly Commended – Sarah Cassidy, Mater Maria Catholic College
- Commended- Aileen Bak, Barker College
Junior Secondary Poetry
- 1st Prize – Jade Cummins, Mater Maria Catholic College
- 2nd Prize – Imogen Robertson, Abottsleigh
- Highly Commended – Ivy Hatherall, SCEGGS Darlinghurst
- Commended- Amber Li, Pymble Ladies College
Senior Secondary Poetry
- 1st Prize – Isaac Elms, St Pius X College Chatswood
- 2nd Prize – Sunday Meikle, Mosman High School
- Highly Commended – Maeve Cox, Queenwood School For Girls
- Commended- Ashley Hanna, Northern Beaches Secondary College Many Campus
The total amount awarded for prizes was $2,500 and this year’s competition was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mosman, Mosman Lions Club, Oracle Books Mosman, Northern Beaches & Mosman College and Constant Reader Bookshop.
