Every Submission Counts - Mosman, North Sydney and Willoughby Merger Proposal

Posted on Wednesday 30 March 2016

Regrettably we find ourselves in the middle of yet another proposed merger by the NSW Government, this time for a merger with North Sydney and Willoughby, despite the Mosman community consistently voting against amalgamation of any kind.

The deadline for submissions on this proposal is next Friday 8 April at 5pm.

Postal submissions should be addressed to Mr Ian Reynolds, Delegate, Council Boundary Review, GPO Box 5341 Sydney NSW 2001. If submitting by post, please allow time for the postal process.

Online submissions can be sent via the Council Boundary Review website at councilboundaryreview.nsw.gov.au

All submissions should include the name, address including postcode (and, if available, email) of the person making the submission. If appropriate, submissions should also indicate whether they are being made on behalf of an organisation.

Unless a request is made for a submission to remain confidential, it may be made publicly available on the Council Boundary Review website. However, we are now told that the timing of this is at Minister Paul Toole’s discretion.

Please note that the Delegate for this proposal will not read our submissions on the earlier (and still live) merger proposal for Mosman, Manly and (part) Warringah. The two proposals are being assessed independently.

If you want to be heard, you must write a separate submission (may be with some similar views to before) to the Delegate, Ian Reynolds, for this merger proposal with North Sydney and Willoughby.

For the many of us who care deeply about our community, it is imperative that our community continues to make its voice heard.
