Interpretive foreshore signage
A new signage project celebrating sites along Mosman’s foreshores that have inspired artworks by prominent artists since 1885 will be launched as part of the Festival of Mosman in October.
Interpretive signage will be installed at the sites, providing residents and visitors with the opportunity to compare their current views with the artworks.
All the works are held in the Mosman Art Collection, which received a major donation of Australian Impressionist and modernist artworks in 2011 from the late Australian philanthropist Neil Balnaves AO.
The 12 artworks in the series range from Arthur Henry Fullwood’s ‘View from Balmoral' (1885) to Margaret Preston’s ‘Mosman Bridge’ (1927) and Jasper Knight’s ‘Spit Bridge Tower’ (2015).
The project has been made possible with the generous support of the Balnaves Foundation.
