Pool safety

With summer well and truly here, residents are reminded to be aware of swimming pool safety. It comes as Royal Life Saving Australia’s National Drowning Report 2025 found there were 357 drowning deaths over the past 12 months, which was 27 per cent higher than the 10-year average. Pool owners are advised to check that pool gates are self-closing and latching, that objects such as furniture and vegetation are not within 90 centimetres of a pool fence and that children are always actively supervised around water.
