Nature play upgrade

Posted on Wednesday 21 January 2026

Council is planning a low impact upgrade of the Rosherville Reserve playground, with construction scheduled from August to December 2026.

The upgrade will keep the playground in its current location and introduce nature based play, bush regeneration, and improved pathways. Small scale play elements, natural timber equipment, sandstone edging, and sand softfall will support a relaxed, bushland character.

The project is funded by $250,000 from the Metropolitan Greenspace Program, matched by Council, and aligns with the Rosherville Reserve and Chinamans Beach Plan of Management and the Greater Sydney Green Grid - a long-term vision linking national parks, bushland corridors, and open spaces across the city.

Council is seeking community feedback to help shape the final play design and ensure it reflects local values and the natural setting.
