The following matters were considered at Council’s April meeting held on Tuesday 1 April 2025. 

Mosman 2025 Citizen of the Year – Susie Agoston

Susie Agoston was named Mosman’s Citizen of the year on 26 January 2025 but was unable to attend the presentation. At Council’s April meeting the Mayor and Council welcomed Susie, together with a packed gallery of supporters, to recognise her achievements. Susie has contributed significantly to Mosman through her many contributions to the arts, sports and philanthropy and in fostering cultural enrichment and youth development. She has worked to build cultural awareness, community engagement and support for indigenous communities including in her work as an accomplished artist and documentary filmmaker.

Route 230 Bus Service

Council considered a Notice of Motion to facilitate engagement with Transport for NSW regarding the 230 bus route, aimed at bringing together stakeholders to discuss the impact of the service to residents and the potential for service improvements.

MOSPLAN 2025-2035

Council has developed its suite of strategic planning documents as required under the Local Government Act. A draft Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program, Operational Plan and associated documents will be released on public exhibition for comment. The suite of plans outline the priorities, projects and resourcing strategies for the coming Council term and include the draft budget, fees and charges, Asset Management Plans and Pricing Policy. The documents will be on public exhibition for 28 days and will be brought back to Council for adoption in June 2025.

NSW Parking Guidelines – Public consultation on updated guidelines

Council voted to provide a submission that outlines its opposition to the NSW Government’s new Permit Parking Guidelines.
