Council Meeting Practice Review

Council will be lodging a submission in response to the draft Framework that highlights both areas of support and also of concern. Council is particularly concerned by the proposal to ban briefing sessions to Councillors as these provide a useful forum to interrogate issues to a level of detail not always practical in a Council meeting setting.

Council approved the tender for demolition and construction a new playground at Reid Park. This is a current MOSPLAN project with works due to start in early 2025.
Climate Action Plan Resilience and Adaptation Strategy Annual Update
Council’s Climate Action Plan – Resilience and Adaptation Strategy (adopted in November 2022) was presented for noting of progress. While many updates were administrative in nature, projects and initiatives in support of each focus area of the Plan was also noted. Council’s Climate Action Plans can be found here.

Taronga Zoo have lodged a State Significant Development Application with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DHPI) for installation of a new cable car structure, with the application on public exhibition between 24 September and 21 October 2024. Council, while generally supportive of the redevelopment is committed to strongly advocating for matters it believes should be taken into consideration, including visual and noise impacts of the work, impact on trees, construction traffic management and public transport service continuity.
Mosman Post Office
Council resolved to make representations to Australia Post regarding the continuity of post office services to the Mosman Community.
Fossil Fuels and Gambling Promotions
